We provide information about the Wheaton League at the French Market.  Shoppers learn about the League and sometimes decide to join.  We encourage their civic engagement.

On September 17, 2018, LWV Wheaton was honored and happy to be at the naturalization ceremony at Cantigny Park. The League helped welcome a new group of citizens and was on hand to register new voters!

Our Exhibit at the Library for Women's History Month

The members of the League worked with the Wheaton Public Library and the DuPage County Historical Museum to put an exhibit on the History of the League of Women Voters and the Suffragists in the library.  Eleanor Roosevelt was one of the earlly leaders who espoused women's vote and the planks of the League.

The League coordinates a mock election for all high schools in our service area so students can experience voting with equipment provided by the DuPage County Election Commision.

Every year the board invites members to a holiday brunch.  It is a social event and allows members to get to know each other.

LWV Wheaton Book Group

Members gather every two months to discuss books chosen my the group.  Many cover social issues of the day.  It also provides members to interact with each other socially and develop friendships.

The Wheaton League of Women Voters invited candidates to participate in our Video Voter Guide who are running for office in the communities we serve: Warrenville, West Chicago, Wheaton, Winfield and Carol Stream

The League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan political organization that encourages informed and active participation in government.  LWV does not endorse or oppose candidates.

The candidates' videos have not been altered or edited and are presented as submitted by the candidates to LWV of Wheaton for the November 2020 election.

5K Run to the Polls

Participate in our Virtual 5k Run/Walk to get out the vote. The event takes place October 9-11.

Vote by Mail

The DuPage Election Division is encouraging voters to vote by mail to avoid having to go to the polls during the Covid-19 Pandemic.  Their website has extensive information.  Watch their video and look at our checklist for voting.

Fair Tax Logo

Now is our chance to bring tax fairness to Illinois with an amendment to the 1970 Illinois Constitution! On November 3, 2020 voters can fix Illinois's broken tax system. With the Fair Tax, 97% of Illinoisans will get a tax cut or pay no more than they do now. Only those making more than $250,000 will see an increase.
